Academic activities have now resumed at Rivers State-owned primary schools across the State after almost one month of closure.
Security personnel attached to the schools shut the schools for over three weeks over alleged non-payment of their eight months salaries by the contracting firm which engaged them.
Our correspondents who monitored the resumption of government-owned schools across Port Harcourt and its environs report that school activities have resumed fully.
Some of the security personnel who spoke to our correspondents said they decided to reopen the schools following the payment of their salaries by the state government.
Meanwhile, some teachers of the affected schools advised the state government to incorporate the contract security personnel into the state government payroll to avoid a re-occurrence of the incident.
