The governing council of the West African Examination Council has officially announced the release of WASSCE 2016/2017 result.
The examination exercise took place from 16th March till 18th May 2016. This results were released by 9:00am prompt on the 17 July,2016.
This was announced officially by the chairman of the governing council of the board of trustees of the West African examination council, Professor Dr. A.B William.
The detailed description of the released result labelled the performance of Nigerians to be Fair but still could not beat the expected target of 60 percent of results with credit in both mathematics and English language.
Detailed performance of Nigeria student are as follows:
Percentage Failure:29 percent
Percentage of result held:21 percent.
Percentage Failure:29 percent
Percentage of result held:21 percent.
Percentage of candidate with credit in both Mathematics and English language: 59 percent.
The results was released earlier to meet with the target period of admission processing into various tertiary institutions.
Candidates are therefore advised to start uploading their result for validity for screening by tertiary institutions.
Most of the results were held mainly as a result of reported examination malpractice activities, While others were held as a result of incomplete credentials.
The Federal government has also commended the performances of States like Ogun, Nasarawa, Cross River, Lagos and Kwara State for their excellence in terms of their candidates results
