Rivers APC Condemn Statement By Gov. Wike On The Posting Of Police Officers In The State

The APC in Rivers state has condemned the statement credited to Gov Nyesom Wike on the matter of posting of police security officers to Rivers State.

In a press statement signed by the state chairman, Dr. Davis Ibiamu Ikanya, the party expressed concern that it has become the past time of Gov Wike to always meddle with the functions of federal agencies in the country.

The Rivers APC wondered when it has become the duty of Gov Wike to decide for the police authorities in Nigeria on who becomes a police officer in any state of the federation, accusing Gov Wike of always blackmailing agencies of federal government when he imagines that their decisions will not be favourable to him.

The APC state chairman observed that yesterday it was inec and judiciary, today it is the police and tomorrow it may be the armed forces.

 The Rivers APC urged the Inspector General of Police and indeed other security agencies in the country to ignore the antics of blackmail which has becomes Gov Wike's past time, stressing that Rivers people and indeed Nigerians are fed up with him and his uncultured approach 

The APC in Rivers State has confidence in the judgment of the Inspector General of police and the police authorities on which police officer will be posted to Rivers State
