Over two thousands members of the  All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Rivers State today staged a peaceful protest to the premises of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex on Moscow road and the Rivers State High Court Premises demanding the immediate swearing in of Hon Victoria Nyeche,  representing Port Harcourt Constituency one and Andrew Miller,  representing Opobo/Nkoro constituency as members of the Assembly.

Deputy National Secretary of the APC,  Hon. Oji Ngofa argued that the refusal by Justice Enebeli in the swearing-in of the Rivers lawmakers elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is not only illegal but a deliberate slap on the constitution of Nigeria.

There is no justification why two members elected under the opposition platform cannot be sworn into the Rivers State House of Assembly. Enough is enough".

He call on the attention of National Judiciary Commission NJC to deluge of injustice dolled on innocent Rivers people every day: The unjustifiable detention of one Ojukaye Amachree, the refusal by Speaker RSHA to swear-in an only female Member-elect of Rivers State House of Assembly and one other male colleague of hers, the selective judgements meted to Rivers people perceived to be members of opposition parties, the unwarranted clampdowns on the homes of those holding variating views from the government of  Rivers State, the trading of court judgements in favor of one particular political party in the lead in Rivers State amongst others.

"We can no longer condone a government that has no room for the opposition. As a people, we shall continue to condemn and call to order all forms of judicial and executive rascality, he added.

Justice Adolphus Enebeli of the High Court in Port Harcourt granted an interim injunction to the Rivers state House of Assembly to maintain status-quo on the swearing-in of the lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency one, Victoria Nyeche of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Justice Enebeli gave the order following a case filed by Mr. Livingstone Wechie who accused Victoria Nyeche of impersonation.
