Rivers PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah Mourns The Demise Of Ojo Maduekwe

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro. Felix Obuah says he is saddened by the demise of the Secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Ojo Maduekwe.

The PDP Chairman described the late Maduekwe as a ‘political iroko’ who will be missed by all Nigerians across party lines.

He urged the family of the late Maduekwe as well as the leadership of the PDP to take heart as death is an ultimate appointment which every mortal must keep with the Almighty.
Bro. Obuah further described the late Maduekwe as one of the country’s most patriotic citizens having served in several capacities including Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2007; Culture and Tourism Minister in 1999 and Transport Minister in 2001.

“As Minister of Transport, he got the nick-name ‘Ojo Oni Keke’ for advocating for the use of bicycles, although critics said that the roads were unsafe for cyclists and Maduekwe himself was pushed into a ditch by a bus while he was cycling to work” Obuah said.

Bro. Obuah prayed for the repose of the soul of Ojo Maduekwe who also served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Canada and also served the PDP meritoriously as National Organizing Secretary before his elevation to the Board of Trustees as Secretary.
