Abua Is Not Part Of Ijaw: AEIPO Warns Ijaw National Congress


A Socio-Cultural Group in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, The ABUA ETHNIC AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE'S ORGANIZATION (AEIPO) has declared that Abua Ethnic Nationality is not a part of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality.

President of the group Mr. Royal Morgan in a letter addressed to the National President of Ijaw National Congress; warn the INC to discard any claim and reference referring Abua as a part of Ijaw.

AEIPO in the letter states that Ijaw National Congress Constitution, " Article 10 Under Clan Level Congress, Page 6, wherein Abua is cited in its Central Zone as a clan in the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality."

The group is therefore demanding the following:

1. The Immediate stoppage of the usurpation of the rights of the Abua to ethnic and indigenous identity.

2. To expunge Abua immediately from the Constitution Of The Ijaw National Congress  (INC),

3. And  a payment of One Hundred Billion Naira Reparations for damages caused the Abua Ethnic And Indigenous People since the inception and usurpation in 1991."

The group has given INC 90 days  starting from 5th September to 5th December, 2017 to adhere and comply to their demands.
