Senator Andrew Uchendu, representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has welcomed the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, to Rivers State, as he flags off the construction of Bodo-Bonny Road.
Senator Uchendu, in a statement released to the press in Port Harcourt, hailed the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, for her vigorous efforts geared towards achieving the construction of the Bodo-Bonny Road, which was long domiciled on paper.
According to the Rivers East Senator, "We welcome the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, as he visits Rivers State today, to flag-off the construction of Bodo-Bonny Road, a project which was long gazetted in the Second National Development Plan. This is indeed, a great feat worthy of commendation.
"Today marks a giant step in the conquest of the problems and challenges militating against the development of the Niger Delta region. This clearly shows that we have a Federal Government that is committed to lifting the oil-rich region out of socio-economic backwardness," he said.
Senator Uchendu also enjoined the good people of Rivers State and Niger Delta at large, to always support the developmental strides of the Federal Government, in the region.
