Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must form a united front after the December 9 National Convention to help salvage the country from her present predicament.
The governor emphasised that he will never be a party to anything that will lead to the disintegration of the PDP.
Speaking when he granted audience to a Former Deputy National Chairman of PDP and National Chairmanship Aspirant, Chief Olabode George at the Government House Port Harcourt on Monday, Governor Wike said that the national convention is a family affair.
He said: "As we agreed in Enugu, whoever wins, let us come out from the National Convention stronger.
"If we don't get it right now that Nigerians are yearning for the party, we should as well say goodbye ".
The governor noted that all aspirants and stakeholders must bear in mind that power comes from God .
He said: "I will do everything humanly possible to strengthen the PDP because we have nowhere to go. We will do everything to ensure a free and fair national convention "
Earlier, Former Deputy National Chairman of PDP and National Chairmanship Aspirant, Chief Olabode George said he was in the zone as part of his preparation towards the National Convention.
He informed the Rivers State Governor that he met with zonal leaders of the party in Port Harcourt ahead of the National Convention.
