Abe Is On Self-Destruct; He Should Leave Amaechi Out Of His Political Harakiri And Self-Immolation ~ Achor Omodu
The truth is that being ambitious within the boundaries and limits of caution and self-restraint is an acceptable behaviour in a sociopolitical milieu. Unfortunately, someone became covertly ambitious to the extent of deploying chicanery, unscrupulousness, blackmail and subterfuge as means through which he can achieve his personal goals.
At this point, he has become desperately ambitious and his first target was his benefactor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and now Minister of Transportation, the leader of APC in Rivers State and South-South. Senator Magnus Abe launched a full-scale social media war against Rt. Hon. Amaechi through his well-funded social media team. Pronto, they went haywire with their attacks on the leader and the leadership of the party.
One of the earliest moves made by Senator Abe was when he said, just few days after the December 10, 2016 legislative elections and the attendant victory, that he was going to step in as the leader of the party in Rivers State, having been elected Senator. While one had thought it was some kind of joke that was intended to merely give comic relief, he persisted. To think that a man, we all worked collectively to make sure he emerged winner is the same man biting every finger that contributed to that victory is not only nauseating but leaves one to imagine why ingratitude has suddenly taken over his rationality. From covert operations to overt operations, he ran amok through proxies with reckless abandon.
What I can deduce from this behaviour is nothing but a case of paranoia of both delusional and schizophrenia types. Both delusional and schizophrenia paranoia are characterized by the dominance of one delusion (false belief) and strange delusions which in some cases are hallucinatory in nature.
Hallucinating on bizarre things, are also common to the condition. A person with paranoid schizophrenia often finds the world confusing and functions poorly without assistance. He mistrusts people. Paranoia is an instinct or thought process which is reasonably believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself.
A man suffering from paranoia feels; "Everyone is out to get me". Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional. Paranoia is a central symptom of psychosis.
If not a case of paranoia, how would one person take offence when the leader has identified the clogs in the wheel of progress and advised parties to forthwith stop their early ambitions and unify their energies in building the party to face the challenge. That advice given sometime in early 2017 arose from manifest gubernatorial activities of Senator Magnus Abe's and Dr. Dakuku Peterside's camps respectively. The leader cautioned both sides and reemphasized, for the umpteenth time, the supremacy of the party and the need for the party to be properly built. Whereas, Dr. Peterside took heed to the advice, Senator refused to take heed. He pulled out and has remained out dining and wining with people with conflicting ideological inclination thus undermining every effort of the APC in Rivers State.
Take it or leave it, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a man who likes to do things equitably. He dispenses justice to seekers of justice. He is a visionary leader. He wants the best for Rivers APC. In fact, on Saturday, at Bori, he said that the governorship primary of the APC in Rivers State will be so transparent and that whoever emerges winner will be supported by all to chase the current occupant of Rivers State Government House out. Peterside and others subscribe to this, Abe doesn't. Like I said, it's nothing but paranoia on the part of Abe. Abe needs to retrace his steps or he should leave the party as we sufficiently believe that what he is doing now is nothing but acting as mercenary for the PDP.
