Dumo Lulu Briggs Celebrates YIMEBE JOI NUNIEH As Chairperson Of NCWD


This is congratulating the 'Ogoni 21 Lawyer', the Esther of Ogoni land as she is formally inaugurated as the Board Chairman, National Center for Women Development (NCWD)

The National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) is an agency of Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development established by Decree No. 11 Section 1(5) of 1995.

Being one of its kind in the African continent, the Centre is charged with the responsibility of stimulating consciousness towards the attainment of higher levels of development and activity for Nigerian Women. It is also charged with the mandate for Gender Training and Capacity Building, Research, and Documentation in addition to addressing the concerns of Nigerian Women.

Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs has expressed confidence in the capacity of Lady Joi Nunieh to deliver on her mandate. He describes her as a resourceful woman with unquantifiable degree of determination to succeed in life's endeavours. He further described the inauguration as a worthy gift to the women of Rivers State as they join the world to mark the season of womanhood.

In a brief chat with the press in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, he stated thus; "For me, the choice of Joi for the chairmanship of the parastatal translates into putting a square peg in a square hole. She's a resourceful woman, determined without measure to succeed in life's endeavours. I can say with all confidence that she is totally fit for the job.

Indeed, this inauguration is a worthy gift to Rivers women as they join the international community to mark the International Women's Day.
