Wife of the Rivers State Governor , Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike has
called on mothers to raise their sons in godly ways that will make them responsible husbands who will positively support their wives.
She congratulated all Mothers and the husbands who support their wives as caregivers to build responsible families.
She spoke during the Mothering Sunday at the Saint Paul's Anglican Cathedral, Diobu in Port Harcourt.
The Wife of the Rivers State Governor said that she was in the Mother's Day celebration to honour Mrs Beatrice Kattey, the wife of outgoing Archbishop Ignatius Kattey.
She said: "I use this opportunity to speak to our mothers that you are doing a work that God has designed you to do. As a result of our make-up, we are caregivers. We are the ones who cater for our sons, until they are adults.
"So, God has given us that responsibility and the accompanying grace to carry it out in good effect and to his glory. So, we should realise our roles in the family and the society "
She said that the International Women's Day and Mother's Day divinely fell in one week to emphasise the importance of Mothers in the stability and growth of the society.
The Wife of the Rivers State Governor urged Mothers to always exhibit love and patience as they live their lives.
She called on women to assist each other, adding that they should always draw their strength from God.
Wife of the outgoing Archbishop of Niger Delta Province, Mrs Beatrice Kattey said mothers deserve to be celebrated because of their contributions to the growth of the society.
She appealed to husbands to love their wives as that will encourage them to be great mothers.
