Abe Kneels Down Before Amaechi, Begs To Go Back To Senate

The Senator representing Rivers South East district in Nigeria’s National Assembly, Magnus Ngei Abe, is at the moment begging for a return ticket to the senate, The Neighbourhood can authoritatively report, in a meeting ongoing in Abuja.

Present in the meeting, a replica of the tempestuous version they held on September 21, are the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Magnus Abe and some select members of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC. However, a source close to the meeting, told The Neighbourhood that Amaechi has refused to accept a change to the list of senatorial aspirants from Rivers State already screened and cleared by the APC National Assembly Screening Panel. The source further told The Neighbourhood that Oshiomhole had pleaded that Amaechi should drop Ambassador Oji Ngofa for Abe, a request Amaechi reportedly told Oshiomhole was impossible.

Those already screened and cleared to participate in the senatorial primaries are His Excellency, Ambassador Oji Nyimenuate Ngofa (Rivers South East), Distinguished Senator Andrew Uchendu (Rivers East), and Hon. Asita Okorie Asita (Rivers West).

The Neighbourhood had earlier reported that Oshiomhole had withdrawn the provisional clearance given to the three senatorial aspirants in Rivers State pending the outcome of ‘special meeting’ he convened to hold on Tuesday night.

The meeting was still ongoing as of the time of this report."
