The Abolga Submit Group has charged politicians and their party to ensure free, fair and violence free elections in the local government before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
The chairman of the group, Mr. Messiah Muzan made the declaration during the group's House Of Assembly debate /Interactive session organized for candidates aspiring for House of Assembly in the local government.
Mr. Messiah urged Abua-Odual youths to maintain peace in the LGA and shun all form of activities that will cause crisis in the local government before, during and after the general elections.
He assured the people that the ABOLGA Summit Group will soon unveil it's programs which is targeted at training and empowering the people with meaningful skills.
The debate which is the first of it's kind since the creation of the LGA in 1991 had in attendance the candidates of the four major political parties, Barr. Kakimun Noah (APC), Barr. Solomon Sokolo (PDP), Comrade Kiikpoye Karibo (Accord), Amb. Josiah Precious (ADP) and as well Community leaders, youth leaders and other prominent sons and daughters of the LGA from all walk of life.
The candidates presented their manifesto and as well answered several questions from the audience during the debate /Interactive session.
The event ended with the candidates and some members of their parties all signing a peace pact in order to maintain peace, order and harmony in the LGA during and after the election.
You will recall that before and during the 2015 general elections, Abua-Odual was a flash point of election violence hence the ABOLGA Summit Group is educating Abua-Odual people on the need for free, fair and peaceful elections come 2019 general elections.
