Violent Protests Threatening Our Daily Operations – NDDC

Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr. Akwagaga Enyia, has expressed worry that the commission has been facing violent protests that threaten the daily operation of its personnel.

Enyia also stated that filing system in the NDDC had suffered unbelievable level of breaches, disclosing that official transactions were falling into unofficial hands.

The NDDC boss, who spoke on Wednesday at the opening of a two-day training for the interventionist agency’s in-house security personnel in Port Harcourt, lamented that apart from internal sabotage, the Commission was facing external infiltration.

She said: “In recent times, as a Commission, we have faced daily, violent protests that threatened our daily operations. Even as we contend with external threats, our filing system suffers unimaginable breaches, as official transactions fall into unofficial hands.

“The Commission suffers external infiltration and internal sabotage; two collaborative evils, which I expect participants in this programme to acquire the skills needed to exorcise.”

Stressing the importance of effective security surveillance in government organisations, Enyia promised that the interventionist agency would continue to leverage its core values to create opportunities for the workforce to upgrade their competencies and specialties
