A Leading aspirant for spokesman in the fort-coming Ijaw Youth Council National Election, Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe has commiserated with the family of Late Capt. Sam Owonaru, a foremost respected Ijaw leader whose life history, has always stood for the liberation of Ijaw people, he said his demise came as a shock to him
Late Capt. Owonaru who was the only surviving soldier, amongst those who fought with Late Ijaw leader, Isaac Adaka Boro, has done well for us and will always be remembered, He noted.
Comr. Ebilade, whom coincidentally was the first IYC aspirant to visit the deceased family since after their loss, described the death of the Late Ijaw leader, Capt. Owonaru, as a great loss to Ijaw nation, citing at the role Late Sam Owonaru played for the ijaws, he said, history will forever remember the deceased and prayed for God to give ijaw nation the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Comr. Ebilade, further called on Ijaw youths to reflect and emulate on the exemplary lifestyle of Late Capt. Owonaru and be their brothers keeper, for the struggle for the betterment of Ijaws continues.
The deceased family appreciated Comr. Ebilade for the visit and offered him goodwill prayers for God to grant him victory at the forthcoming IYC national elections.
