The Chief Executive Officer of Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Miebi Bribena has restated that all backlogs due its members for the month of march 2021 and first timers who did not terminate their contributions will be cleared in no distant time.
He said the management of the cooperative is working assiduously to ensure that within the ongoing 90 days pause payment period, the backlogs for March 2021 are paid and urged members to continue to excercise patience.
"I want to assure all of our members who have outstanding backlogs for the month of March 2021 that we have not forgotten about you and that your matter is still a priority.
"We will begin to treat these backlogs within our 90 day pause payment period, as soon as we have completed the payment for refund in the 100 thousand naira category and appreciable funds roll in", he said.
Speaking at his weekly media briefing in Yenagoa, Bribena announced that in the last one week, a lot of progress has been made and his team are working to consolidate on the achievements so far.
According to him, a total of N20.5 million has been refunded to members who applied for termination, bringing the total figure so far refunded to N55.7 million in the last three weeks.
Bribena said: " Dear members of our great Baraza family, for the last three weeks, we have been providing updates of the progress we continue to make, especially as it relates to payment of refunds for the 100 thousand category and prioritizing the payment of Backlog.
"I am happy that we have made a lot of progress in the payment of refunds so far.
It is important to state that we have only been able to make this payment so far because of your patience and understanding, which gives us the opportunity to be settled to trade and make profit.
"We want to continue to ask for this understanding and assure every member of our great cooperative that we will all smile at the end. Everyone will get what is due to them.
"Baraza is a God-given vision that is here to stay. We are committed to our ideals of reducing poverty and will continue to do this no matter what the challenges we are going through.
"As we promised, we will not rest until every member gets what is due to them, and We appreciate your support and understanding so far. It means a lot to us.
"I want to use this opportunity to again reassure you that I am personally on the ground here in Bayelsa and working with my team to resolve this temporal challenge. We are all in this together, and I am going nowhere. We will bounce back better and stronger.
"We remain committed to our roadmap and ensure every member gets what is due to them as we continue to trade and make profits", he added.
