The Ministerial Nominee for Rivers State, Hon Udi Odum, has promised to work with the Presidency in order to achieve its programmes.
Hon. Odum, who is among seven ministerial nominees sent to the Senate for Confirmation by President Muhammadu Buhari to fill vacant positions in the Federal Execute Council, made the promise when he appeared before the Senate on Wednesday for screening.
Addressing members of the Red Chambers, Hon Odum, a three-time Caretaker Committee Chairman and two-time Executive Chairman in Abua/Odual local government area of Rivers State, told the Federal Lawmakers that during his tenure as the Executive Chairman, he was awarded the Best Performing Chairman by the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA).
The Minister Designate who thanked the President for finding him worthy to serve at the National Executive Council said: "It will be an honour to serve the country in any capacity, helping Mr. President to execute his programmes, faithfully", he said.
Earlier, the Senator Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator George Sekibo, who spoke on behalf of the three Senators representing Rivers State, said Hon. Odum possesses some sterling qualities as evident during his tenures as Council Chairman in Abua/Odual.
"We have some sterling qualities in men and until you expose them to challenges you will not see them,' he said, while thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for the choice of Hon. Odum.
Also, Senator Ishakku Abo, representing Adamawa North, told the House how former LGA Chairman had provided employment for youths in his state, pointing out that, "Hon Udi Odum is a bridge builder who carries the spirit of a true Nigerian."
