The Interim Administrator/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Efiong Okon Akwa, was a special guest of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, at the decoration of newly promoted Commissioners of Police (CPS) and Assistant Inspector Generals of Police (AIGs) at Police headquarters, Abuja. This is in recognition of the robust partnership between the NDDC and Nigeria Police Force, particularly in improving the security and safety situation and protocols in the Niger Delta region.
Recall that only last year President Muhammadu Buhari, through the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, commissioned the impressive Special Protection Unit Base 6 Barracks of the Nigeria Police Force in Omagwa, Rivers State.
President Buhari noted: "This singular intervention demonstrates that NDDC understands the importance of government’s effort at improving the lives and livelihoods of our police officers, in line with my directive that building of barracks for men and women of the police force should be done in collaboration with the Special Housing effort of the Family Home funds."
Here, Dr. Akwa decorates one of the recipients. Congratulations to all the gentlemen.
