Interim Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Efiong Akwa has said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has done more for Niger Deltans since the inception of the development agency.
Speaking to news men after the official handover of 33 vehicles to security agencies which worked with the Commission during the forensic audit, Dr. Akwa said that it was clear that President Buhari "has us at heart. No wonder he was so concerned about the misuse of funds meant for the development of our region and ordered the forensic audit to make NDDC better equuiped to serve the Niger Delta region."
The NDDC boss said that Niger Deltans are happy with the president, "not because he has solved all the problems, but for the first time it is clear that an administration has sincere concern for, and the will to ensure, the development of people and region."
He said: "The president is concerned and committed to developing our region. That's why he gives express approval to programmes and projects which will facilitate the development of the region. He has worked to make the Niger Delta the most peaceful and secure region of Nigeria and this handover is to help our security agencies in their work."
