Opobo/Nkoro Can't Put All Her Eggs In One Basket - Boma Brown

My people, today is historic- for it has finally put paid to the long awaited expectation of so many people. For while many think that we will go the way of the majority, we have decided to take the road less travelled.

People resign or defect for different reasons, I do respect their opinion and believe they should accord me same.

Leaving APC to PDP or vice versa does not make you a more patriotic Opobian than any one else, because politics is all about interest.

Today, we have come to join and rebuild the party and put her on wining ways which implies doing things differently, new approach, new system, and new understanding, so help us God.

In politics, nwhile personal interest is paramount, this time we have put community interest over personal interest, hence we cannot afford to PUT OUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

Today is assumed or feigned that majority of Opobo and Nkoro people have pitched tent with the PDP because one of her son is the flag bearer of the party, and that is good and commendable.

History has it that Opobo and Nkoro were not found on crowd mentality. Our great grand fathers did not put thier eggs in one basket when they left Bonny in 1869, a period when Bonny was booming as the centre of oil palm trade. They took a different path with courage and vision founded Opobo, and today history is smiling on them for their sheer courage.

A century or less than before Opobo, our brothers from Nkoro left their kith and kin at Ogu and Okrika and settled deep south near the atlantic at a time when migration and wars were rife. Nkoro today is a kingdom flourishing independently.

Opobo and Nkoro have always being politically intelligent. We are a people whose exposure, intelligence have imbued huge human resource. Anytime we go against our intuition, we suffer the pain as we did in 1959 general elections when two Opobo sons in the same party lost elections because they put their eggs in one basket.

In the first republic one of our sons, late Alabo Tobias Minima pitched tent with the Action Group- AG as against the popular NCNC though he was criticised at the time, he turned to become Opobos saving arm during and after the civil war.

In the Second Republic, one of Opobos' son, late Alabo Michael Peterside contested the Senatorial seat under the Nigeria Peoples Party(NPP), against Late Barrister Nunieh of the NPN.

Let's not forget, the most recent one that happened in 2015 when Amaopusenibo Dakuku Peterside joined the APC. Though he wasn't successful at that outing, he went on to be appointed the DG of NIMASA at the federal level.

All of us can't be in one boat, as that will be a political suicide.

What we are doing, is to fix our eyes on the political future of Opobo and Nkoro people. We dont want to wring our hands in 2023. Hence we have pitched with the APC which from all indications will win both the federal and state elections.

We see future in APC Rivers state because we believe that our fathers who voted the Alhaji Shagari of NPN in 1979 against our Nnamdi Azikiwe of NPP and attracted the shore protection, were not fools.

Ladies and gentlemen, party faithfuls, let us move with full assurance that the future belongs to those who seize it and exploit it. God bless you all.

APC...NEXT LEVEL!!!
