Group Call On Gov. Wike To Save Abua/Odual People From Plots By NDPR And RSHA


The Abua/Odual Amalgamated Youths For Peace (AAYFP) is calling on the Rivers State Governor, Barr. E.N. Wike to intervene into the neglect of Otari community and indeed Abua/Odual at large by the Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Limited (NDPR) of over a decade of their Oil & Gas operations in the local government area.

The group in a press release signed by its spokesman Barr. Kelvin Mopho expressed displeasures over the inclusion of Otari community to Ahoada East local government and as well not allocating a single project to the community which is a host community where the Oil & Gas well resides by the Rivers State House of Assembly committee on Public Complaints and Petitions.

Mopho said on the 1st of August, 2016 a committee for public hearing was constituted; which the affected communities of Ogbele, Obumeze and Ozugboko in Ahoada East LGA; Rumuekpe in Emohua LGA & Otari in Abua/Odual LGA  all submitted documents but so disheartened to go for resolution of the outcome and Abua/Odual not included.

It will interest you to know the the Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly hails from Otari Community in Abua/Odual LGA happens to double the Vice Chairman of the RSHA Committee and a Representative of both Otari community and Abua/Odual LGA but deliberately did not attend the hearing and plenary where this evil is plotted against his people.

The group further request that the 18 point Resolution be made Public for Rivers people and His Excellency to see if Otari and Abua/Odual has not been left out in the draft resolution.

It also urge the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Marshall S. Uwom to make public his opinion on the Resolution of which he was the vice chairman and representative of both Otari  community and Abua/Odual If he is in support of it as confirmed by the legal officer to the committee.

The group thanked Gov. E. N. Wike for all the projects he is executing in Abua/Odual and ask him to do even.
