The Senator representing Anambra North in the National Assembly, Senator Stella Oduah has officially declared to run for a second term under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Oduah who officially defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to APGA on Wednesday, said that she had chosen to continue her fight for her people under the new platform.
Recall that that during the build up to the 2017 Anambra Governorship election, Oduah had expressed grave displeasure at manner in which the PDP conducted its primaries.
However, Oduah did not state why she was dumping the party, rather she said she chose to join APGA because of the Igbo Agenda, youths and women empowerment, which she described as the center piece of her politics.
“My brothers and sisters, despite my global orientation, the Igbo agenda and that of my core constituency has always been the centrepiece of my politics.
“As a senator, my first obligation is to my constituency, then my state and Igbo-land; it is on this note that I announce my intention to run for the Anambra North Senatorial seat under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
“My joining APGA is born out of the conviction that the party is the conscience of the Igbo, and because every politics is local.
“APGA possesses the Midas-touch to turn the South-East into a land of gold.
“My brothers and sisters, APGA bu nke anyi!
Oduah who commended Governor Willie Obiano for being one of the very few governors who does not owe workers’ salaries, described him as one who had reformed Anambra state.
