Stay Alive And Be Counted As Past Governors Of Rivers State: Briggs Tells Nyesom Wike

The media has been awash with a resent statement credited to Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the current governor of Rivers State.

While relieving his sadness over the recent victories recorded by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Appeal Court in Abuja, the governor who attended a thanksgiving service in honor of the ousted National legislator, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, was reported as saying  “I am ready to place my life on the line, nobody will take Rivers State. 2019, they will not succeed..."

Apparently, Gov. Wike couldn't contain his rage over the recent Court of Appeal ruling which sacked Senator Thompson Sekibo of the PDP and replaced him with Senator Andrew Uchendu of the APC.

Sequel to this outburst by the Executive Governor of Rivers State which has been described in many quarters as unbecoming of a person in such an exalted position of leadership, a Pan-Rivers grassroots politician and philanthropist, Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has advised the governor not to contemplate suicide but stay alive and be counted among former governors of Rivers State after the 2019 elections.

The Governor's suicide threat has attracted criticisms across the state and beyond but Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs says that "Rivers people are a peace loving people that believe in togetherness and the wellbeing of their neighbours" he has therefore called on the governor to stay alive and enjoy the retirement benefits due him from May 29, 2019.
