The Director General of NIMASA Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, celebrates Sallah with the Muslim Community in Rivers State.
Dr. Peterside who addressed a teeming crowd of muslims at his Port Harcourt residence commended them for the peaceful celebration of the event adding that it is a reflection of the harmony and peaceful co-existence amongst the muslim community in the State. He went ahead to spur them to extend the same harmony, oneness and love to all non-muslim members of the society as this is key in fostering the much desired peace which precurses development at all levels and sectors.
" I am pleased with you all my muslim brothers and sisters particularly for how you have conducted yourself in a very peaceful manner through the Salah celebrations. You have shown yourselves to be law-abiding and true citizens of the State.
I commend you for your prayers on behalf of our President while he was away on medical leave. You demonstrated total faith in our President and in our corporate existence."
Dr. Peterside also assured the visiting muslims to remain steadfast in prayers to Allah believing that the sad security situation in Rivers State will soon be a thing of the past.
"We are believing Allah that the heightened level of insecurity in the State will soon be a thing of the past.
Be assured that we are all stakeholders in the Rivers Project and must show passionate commitment towards the liberation of our dear State from the hands of criminals and ritualists.
As muslims resident in Rivers State you are equally citizens of Rivers State. There is no need for segregation along religious and ethnic lines. All these divisive tendencies are only artificial and not real."
The leader of the Muslim delegation Al Ali Kwande described Dr. Peterside as a trustworthy and an amiable personality whose leadership virtues are worthy of emulation. Mr. Kwale also commended the NIMASA Boss for his good works at NIMASA saying he is indeed a blessing to the Nigerian society.
" I have know Dr. Peterside from his childhood and that qualifies me to call him my son. He is such a hard-working young man and has built for himself an impeccable character and standard that has placed him above his equals." He said.
Finally, Dr. Peterside conveyed the regards of the Hon. Minister of Transportation who described muslims as peaceful and dependable citizens.
" I will not fail to convey the warm felicitations of our leader, the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to the muslim community. I bring you the assurances of his highest esteem, he added.
