The Impetus Group, a socio-political movement in Rivers State have com mented the effects of the wife of the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Dame Judith Amaechi for empowering Rivers Youths through her ESI Scheme.
The Group in a press release signed by the director of media and publicity, Comrade Obinna Ebogidi urge the Rivers State Government to emulate her selfless example and resourcefully explore the largely untapped and wasting amazing youthful potentials in the state.
Comrade Obinna said, nothing can better describe the terrible situation of Rivers youths under the NEW agenda of Gov Nyesom Wike led government. His actions since 2015 has more or less cast aspersion on the aspirations of young people as his government has ceased every opportunity to display its gross disdain and disinterest in their survival and wellbeing by investing almost nothing with respect to human capital development.
It is for this reason that the very notable and admirable achievements of Former First Lady of Rivers State - Dame Judith Amaechi - through her Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) which has single handedly trained and empowered over 3000 youths across the Niger Delta in several areas of skilled competence to pursue self sufficiency, is worthy of commendation by all irrespective of party leaning.
That a single individual could so passionately commit her time and resources to turning around the helpless lives of several youths and diligently attract remarkable partnerships and sponsorships to keep the vision alive long after her husband left Government House is a dignified tale that is so hard to come by, especially at this time in Rivers State where issues pertaining youth survival and sustenance has been relegated to the background.
It is indeed sad that while those around Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his amiable wife continue to encourage them not to relent in offering young people tools needed to survive in this 21st century, Gov Wike and his agents have only excelled in putting in place schemes for self aggrandizement and enrichment, haven destroyed the youth friendly legacies of the previous administration.
It is has become imperative that RSG with its vast resources start training and empower Rivers youth in other to take them off crime and criminality, he added.
