Man Sentenced To Death For Killing Banker In Rivers State

A  Port Harcourt High Court has sentenced one Mr. Joseph Ufoh to death by hanging for killing a banker with one of the new generation banks in Rivers state, Pascal Nnorum to death.

The suspect, Joseph Udoh  was charged for murder with  number,PHC 3436 CR/ 2017 between the state and the suspect.

The suspect on the 13th of May 2017 was alleged  to  have killed the deceased along MTN link road  Aba road in Obio/Akpor local government area when the defendant scratched the car of the deceased.

On approaching the defendant, held down the stirring of the deceased car to show his grievances before the defendant dragged the deceased on the ground from the MTN office to Oil mill market junction and also allegedly dragged the deceased on the culvert that divided the road by Elelewon junction.

Delivering his Judgement, Justice Chiwendu Nworgu ruled that the prosecution has proven their case before reasonable doubt that the defendant killed the decease Pascal Nnorum and found guilty as charged.

The judge further convicted and sentenced the defendant to death by handing on his neck until death.

Meanwhile speaking outside the court room, Edwin Woka counsel to the defendant expressed dissatisfaction over the judgement, stating that the judgement would be contested st the appallent court.
